About

The London Blitz has a proud tradition in the BAFA with roots tracing back to the founding of Britball. Originally the Ealing Eagles, they were one of the original teams in Britain. The team then merged with the Woking Generals and played as the Hayes Generals for the 1994 season before choosing a team name to represent the whole of London. The London Blitz was born.

Since then the Blitz has built one of the most respected clubs in Britain, producing some of the league's most famous alumni and consistently reaching the highest level of the league. Since the foundation of the Club, a youth programme has been high on their agenda and one of the keys to their success has been the ability to promote players through the teams to senior level. The Blitz regularly supplies players and coaches for the national teams at all levels.

Notable successes include: Lineman Lorn Mayers started with our youth programme before proceeding to the senior squad, played in NFL Europe and made it to the Raiders practice squad. Linebacker Jason Brisbane, who also started with our youth programme before proceeding to the senior squad was named to the San Diego Chargers practice squad. Wide receiver and kicker Duncan Aldous played for some years in our senior squad went on to attend Bowie State in the United States on a football scholarship. Quite a few players from our youth programme went on to complete there education in the States.

Despite our truly amateur status, we have had some success against some of the best teams in Europe.

By combining a professional approach to training, coaching and playing, we aim to continue to achieve a high level in our sport at all levels from 8 years old upwards.
