The London Blitz American Football Club defeated the Sussex Thunder 55-0 as they continued their unbeaten run. The Thunder offense began the game from the 26 yard line after a decent kick return and mounted a solid drive, mixing up the run and the pass until the Blitz defence were able to force them to punt. On the first play from scrimmage, Blitz quarterback Fred Boyle threw an interception, giving the Thunder offense great field position. A purposeful Blitz defense made short work of the ensuing Thunder offensive possession but the Blitz offense continued to stutter as quarterback Fred Boyle fumbled the ball after the snap and the Thunder defense recovered it. The Blitz defense took to the field with purpose yet again and forced the Thunder offense to punt. Ed Morgan returned the resulting punt to mid-field, giving the Blitz offense positive field position. Great running from Blitz running back Deji Alli looked to set up a certain first and goal, only for him to fumble the ball when going to ground; luckily for him though, the ball was recovered by wide receiver Robert Araujo. The Blitz offense tried to run the ball in from a yard out but came up short. The offense then opted to change tack by going to the air and Boyle found rookie wide receiver Araujo in the end zone for the 1 yard touchdown pass. Kicker Ed Morgan added the point after to give the Blitz a 7-0 lead. |

Rejuvenated for the 2010 season, a London Blitz player took take time out for an exclusive one-on-one interview in a new segment called Man to Man Coverage. This week, Chrest the Press lines up in man to man opposite London Blitz Defensive Back, Dion Andrade. Chrest the Press: The team regained the Premier Division title and the National Championship last season.  Do you see it as retribution for BritBowl XXII? Dion Andrade: Even though it did feel good to get a hat-trick on the Jets, we learned from the mistakes that we made, the previous year in BritBowl XXII,. We formed a real family bond which and played with a chip on our shoulder (which is still there because we aren't finished!). We made sure we went out together, and earned the right to regain those titles. |

The first ever venture into European Competition for the North London Based Club saw the experience end at the hands of Swedish team, the Carlstadt Crusaders in the Semi Final of the European Federation (EFAF) Cup. The Blitz Offense took to the field first and after a promising start with a 22 yard gain on the first play by Running Back Gareth Dauley; the offense then stalled and were forced to punt. This would prove to be the story of the day as a dominating Carlstadt defense were too much to handle for the young Blitz Offense. On the defensive side of the ball, the Blitz proved up to the challenge ending the first quarter with a shut out of the Carlstadt Offense. |
