The London Blitz American Football Club continued their run of unbeaten games domestically with a dominant 76-0 win over the visiting Sussex Thunder. The Thunder’s opening kickoff was returned to the Blitz 19 yard line. The Blitz offense didn't take long to get in gear, with quarterback Fred Boyle finding wide receiver Michael Casper through the air by the sideline who then raced away from Thunder defenders to record the game's first touchdown. The point after attempt was unsuccessful leaving the score 6-0 to the Blitz. The Blitz defense took to the field with a similar intensity, with linebacker Leon Williams setting the tone as the defense forced the Thunder to punt. Punt returner Clive Palumbo returned the ensuing punt 54 yards to the end zone for a quick-fire second touchdown for the Blitz. Ed Morgan slotted over the point after to make the score 13-0 to the Blitz. On the very first play of the Thunder's next possession, Blitz linebacker Charles "C-Unit" Bradley intercepted a pass and returned the ball to the endzone for the Blitz's third touchdown of the game. Morgan added the extra point to give the Blitz an early 20 point lead The Blitz defense continued their dominance, forcing yet another punt on the next Thunder offensive possession, with defensive lineman Pat "Ice Cream" Yeye recording a sack on the drive. The Blitz offense built on this momentum, driving downfield with quarterback Boyle capping the drive by finding wide receiver Talla N'Diaye in the corner of the end zone from 7 yards out for the touchdown. Morgan added the point after to make the score 27-0. From there on the game was never in question, with the relentless Blitz defense not giving up a single point while allowing just 2 first downs in the game. The Blitz offense continued to execute, with quarterback Nathaniel Wilson rushing for two touchdowns (equaled club record) while running backs Deji Alli and Jon Chilton also rushing for two touchdowns each with fullback Pete Sochart rounding off the scoring with a rushing touchdown of his own. Ed Morgan was flawless on the remaining extra point kicks and set a new club single game records for the most extra point kicks, kickoff and kickoff yards. The full-time score was London Blitz 76, Sussex Thunder 0. After the game, Blitz quarterback Fred Boyle said: "It was the first time in a few weeks that we were consistent with our execution throughout the entire game. Blitz Head Coach Mark Moss said: "I'm really pleased with the performance today. Before the game we talked about remaining focused and eliminating the mistakes and we did a much better job with that today. The Blitz now prepare for their next game, a rematch against the Thunder on July 4th.
